Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater Stages ‘The Little Prince’ for International Children’s Day

Baku: On June 1, International Children's Day, the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater showcased a remarkable performance of "The Little Prince," based on the renowned work by French author Antoine de Saint-Exup©ry. Leyla Aliyeva, Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and head of the IDEA Public Union, alongside Alena Aliyeva, attended the event.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the play is crafted to engage both children and adults, offering a meaningful and entertaining experience. The production is under the direction of People's Artist Jannat Salimova, with Ilgar Fahmi serving as the stage director. Music for the performance is composed by Ruslan Aghababayev, and visual design is handled by artist Maryam Alakbarli. Honored Artist of Russia Sergey Gritsai leads the choreography team, which includes ballet masters and Honored Artists Zakir Aghayev and Yelena Aghayeva.

The play features a talented cast with Faig Mirzayev as the King, Emrah Dadashov as the Pilot, and Eljan Kalbiyev, portraying the Little Prince. Kalbiyev is the son of Telman Kalbiyev, a hero of the 44-day Patriotic War. Other notable cast members include Huseyn Alili, Rauf Babayev, Ruslan Mursalov, Zaur Aliyev, Nuray Mammadzadeh, and Murad Aliyev. The play's original production took place in 2019, supported by Leyla Aliyeva and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
