Baku: Contracts and agreements amounting to a financial value of 7.5 billion dollars were signed during Baku Energy Week and the 1st Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue. The Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan and SOCAR entered into these agreements with companies and organizations from the US, Trkiye, Serbia, San Marino, and France.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the protocol of the 1st Azerbaijan-US Economic Dialogue underscores the strengthened economic relations between the two nations, elevating them to a more formal institutional level. The agreements include large-scale financial partnerships with SOCAR and the TANAP project involving global corporations like JP Morgan, Apollo Global Management, Chevron, and Comstock Resources, reflecting US business confidence in Azerbaijan's economy.
A notable agreement is the "Azerbaijan-United States Framework for Securing of Supply in the Mining and Processing of Critical Minerals and Rare Earths," signed by Azerbaijan's Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Economic, Energy, and Business Affairs Caleb Orr. Additionally, SOCAR, TotalEnergies, XRG, and BOTAS agreed on a 15-year sale of 50 percent of the natural gas produced from the "Absheron" gas-condensate field to Trkiye.
Further agreements include the Ni€¦¡ CCGT project with "Elektroprivreda Srbije" and a Memorandum of Understanding with Shell for energy sector cooperation. SOCAR also signed an agreement with AASS for gas sales to San Marino starting October 2026 and a memorandum with Comstock Resources for potential cooperation in gas fields.
Other significant documents include a Memorandum of Understanding with JP Morgan for long-term financing, a Joint Study Agreement with Chevron for the Middle Caspian basin, and investment support for the TANAP project with Apollo Global Management. SOCAR also engaged with The George Washington University, Oracle, and Lummus Technology for various technological and strategic cooperation initiatives.
