Azerbaijan Thwarts Drug Smuggling Attempt from Iran

Lankaran: A large amount of narcotics was intercepted before being smuggled into Azerbaijan, APA reports citing the Press Center of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan. The incident underscores ongoing efforts to protect the state border and combat drug-related crimes.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Border Service, particularly the Lankaran border detachment of the Border Troops Command, successfully prevented the illegal crossing from Iran into Azerbaijan. The operation resulted in the discovery and seizure of 9 kilograms 376 grams of marijuana and 560 methadone M-40 pills, both containing narcotics.
