Baku: The United Nations is in the process of developing a framework program focused on social, economic, and environmental sustainability within the tourism sector. This initiative stems from the Baku Declaration on sustainable development, which was adopted during the COP conference scheduled for 2024. Natalia Bayona, Executive Director of UN Tourism, shared these insights with journalists, APA-Economics reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Bayona emphasized Azerbaijan’s significant role in advancing UN Tourism’s objectives. She highlighted that Azerbaijan’s representation on the Executive Council, the governing body of UN Tourism, underscores its influence. Additionally, Azerbaijan has established itself as a valuable partner by hosting international conferences organized by the UN.
