Baku: A significant quantity of narcotics was intercepted from being smuggled into Azerbaijan, as reported by the Press Center of the State Border Service to APA.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on October 10, efforts to secure the state border and combat the illegal trade of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors are continuing effectively. The State Border Service’s Border Troops Command conducted a successful operation in the service area of the “Horadiz” border detachment.
The operation thwarted the smuggling of a substantial amount of narcotic drugs from Iran into Azerbaijan using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The border search and operational measures led to the discovery and seizure of 12 kilograms 660 grams of marijuana in the border region.
The authorities are carrying out ongoing operational-investigative measures related to the incident to ensure further security and enforcement.
