Azerbaijan to Approve Financing for International Dual Degree Programs

Baku: The financing procedure for the implementation of international dual degree programs in Azerbaijan is set to be approved. This move is part of the Presidential Order titled ‘On additional measures to enhance the international competitiveness of the higher education system of the Republic of Azerbaijan,’ signed by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Order mandates that the Cabinet of Ministers must, within four months, finalize the selection procedure for foreign partner higher education institutions where these dual degree programs will be executed. Additionally, they are tasked with defining the education programs by specialties and education levels and subsequently reporting their progress to President Aliyev. The Cabinet is also responsible for approving the financing procedure for these international dual degree programs, ensuring a structured approach to their implementation.

Furthermore, the Cabinet must devise and approve an action plan for the execution of these programs, keeping the President informed of their developments. This initiative is aimed at boosting the international competitiveness of Azerbaijan’s higher education system by fostering partnerships with foreign institutions and enhancing educational offerings through dual degree programs.
