Baku: Azerbaijan is set to impose fines on individuals using electronic cigarettes in prohibited areas, including streets and other public spaces. This move is part of amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendments stipulate that from April 1, a fine of 30 manats will be enforced for using electronic cigarettes in areas where smoking is banned. These areas include streets and other public locations.
The amendments also align with changes to the law 'On Tobacco and Tobacco Products,' which will see a comprehensive ban on the import, export, production, storage, wholesale and retail sale, and use of electronic cigarettes and their components starting April 1.
