Azerbaijan to Enhance Export Potential of Halal Products

Accra:The country is set to implement measures aimed at increasing the export potential of halal products. Ilgar Hasanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, announced these plans during a media training session focused on World Standards Day.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, Hasanov highlighted that Azerbaijan intends to promote halal standards and investigate production processes at manufacturing facilities to assess the feasibility of implementing these standards.

Azerbaijan, a member of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), has already adopted many of the organization's standards as state regulations. Hasanov emphasized the global demand for halal products, noting that this presents an opportunity to boost the country's export capabilities.

Efforts are underway to broaden the practical application and promotion of halal standards within Azerbaijan, as the country seeks to capitalize on the high demand for these products worldwide.
