Baku: Laboratories for determining the gemological properties of unprocessed diamonds will be established in Azerbaijan. This development is part of President Ilham Aliyev’s Order concerning Azerbaijan’s accession to the ‘Kimberley Process Certification Scheme,’ APA reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, under the directive, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan is tasked with ensuring the allocation of funds from the state budget. These funds will be directed to the State Agency for Anti-Monopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The purpose is to establish and organize laboratories dedicated to assessing the gemological properties of unprocessed diamonds, facilitating state control in this sector.
