Baku: Azerbaijan will soon establish the Media and Broadcasting Council, as reported by the APA. This new council will be formed by merging the existing Media Development Agency and the Audiovisual Council. The initiative is part of proposed amendments to the Law on Media, which were deliberated during the Milli Majlis session today.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Media and Broadcasting Council will assume the role of the primary state authority overseeing media and broadcasting activities across Azerbaijan. The responsibilities currently managed by the Media Development Agency and the Audiovisual Council will transition to this newly formed council, which will also be entrusted with expanded rights and responsibilities.
