Davos: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has announced that Azerbaijan will host either a World Cup or a European Championship in skiing every year. He made this statement while addressing business representatives from various countries during an event titled 'Azerbaijan Executive Breakfast,' held as part of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev shared that this year a World Cup event will take place in Shahdag. He highlighted the beginning of Azerbaijan's relationship with the International Ski Federation, noting that the event is already included in the federation's calendar.

The president also remarked that these skiing events will complement Azerbaijan's existing summer event, Formula One, which has been held for more than 10 years and has significantly boosted tourism. Since hosting the first Formula One event, Azerbaijan has experienced a 20 percent growth in tourist numbers.
