Nouakchott: Azerbaijan is set to participate in the 55th meeting of the Executive Committee of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC), which will commence on February 3 in Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania. The meeting will see the attendance of parliamentary delegates from member states.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, MP Jeyhun Mammadov will represent Azerbaijan at this significant gathering. The PUIC is a multilateral organization that includes the national parliaments of member states within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). It was established on June 17, 1999, during a founding conference in Tehran, Iran, where its permanent headquarters are also located. Currently, the PUIC comprises 54 member parliaments.
