Baku: Ensuring information security and cybersecurity is being included among the main directions of state policy in the field of informatization, APA reports. This development is part of a proposed amendment to the Law "On Information, Informatization and Protection of Information," which was discussed at today's meeting of the Human Rights Committee of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft outlines new procedures for monitoring and auditing state information resources and systems based on security criteria. These procedures exclude information resources and systems belonging to intelligence and counterintelligence entities, critical information infrastructure, the information infrastructure of the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and entities supervised in financial markets, specifically legal entities owned by the state or in which the controlling stake is state-owned. The body or institution designated by the relevant executive authority will be responsible for determining these procedures and issuing opinions on information security.
