Baku: The import of electric buses into Azerbaijan will be exempt from value-added tax (VAT) for a duration of one year. This initiative, reported by APA, is part of the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026.”

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the exemption applies to buses that operate solely on electric engines and are imported without seats, handles, or monitors. These buses are intended for industrial production and assembly by residents of industrial parks. The exemption will also apply to the sale of these buses once they have been fitted with seats, handles, and monitors. The VAT exemption will commence on January 1, 2026, and continue for one year.
