Baku: The open court hearing at the Baku Military Court revealed harrowing testimonies from victims of alleged war crimes committed by Armenian citizens. The court session, held on October 23, included statements from victims unable to attend due to compelling reasons, who submitted written appeals instead, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, victim Azad Kamal oghlu Tahirov recounted a chilling experience during captivity, where a police officer named Maksim inflicted severe physical abuse. Tahirov described being struck in the mouth with a rifle butt, resulting in a lost tooth, and having a cigarette extinguished on his neck. Maksim then forced Tahirov and fellow inmates to engage in a deadly game of Russian roulette. The game turned fatal when Maksim aimed at Taghi Bayramov, leading to his instant death. Bayramov’s body was subsequently buried at a riverbank on orders from Armenian militants.

In a separate incident, victim Telman Babir oghlu Zeynalov detailed injuries sustained from an anti-personnel mine blast in Mehdili village of Jabrayil district while performing his duties with colleagues. Similarly, Bahruz Tapdig oghlu Nasirov reported injuries from a landmine explosion during a mine-clearing operation in the same area, alleging the mines were deliberately planted by Armenians.

The court is currently examining charges against Armenian nationals accused of an array of serious offenses, including war crimes, crimes against humanity, genocide, terrorism, and violations of war laws and customs. The accusations extend to financing terrorism, violent seizure and retention of power, among other grave charges.
