Katerini:Azerbaijan's national beach wrestling team excelled at the 2026 Beach World Series Final held in Katerini, Greece, by winning three gold and two bronze medals.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Vusal Aliyev (80 kg), Ashraf Ashirov (90 kg), and Jamal Feyziyev (+90 kg) each claimed gold medals, while Rubail Ibrahimli (70 kg) and Sahib Dadashov (80 kg) took home bronze medals.

The team's success resulted in a total of 90 points, which placed them at the top of the overall standings, granting Azerbaijan its first-ever Beach Wrestling World Series team title.

Throughout the World Series' five stages, Vusal Aliyev (80 kg) secured his second career world title, and newcomer Ashraf Ashirov (90 kg) was also crowned world champion. Rubail Ibrahimli (70 kg), Sahib Dadashov (80 kg), and Jamal Feyziyev (+90 kg) achieved third place overall in their respective weight classes.

The United World Wrestling (UWW) also recognized the achievements of Azerbaijan's head coach, Oyan Nazariani, naming him the Best Beach Wrestling Coach of the Year.
