Azerbaijan Waives Property Registration Fees for War-Disabled Veterans and Martyrs’ Families

Baku: War veterans with disabilities and families of martyrs in Azerbaijan are now exempt from state fees for documents related to the registration of property rights. This new policy is part of an amendment to the Law "On State Duty," recently approved by President Ilham Aliyev.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the exemption applies to various legal actions associated with real estate. These actions include the issuance of registry extracts and technical documents, such as passports and measurement plans, which are essential for the state registration of rights to real estate. Additionally, land surveying for registering land plot rights and the issuance of certificates from the state register on restrictions on real estate rights are covered under this exemption. The state registration of mortgages also falls under this policy, which aims to support socially vulnerable groups.

The amendment targets individuals with disabilities resulting from war, the January 20 events, and military service duties, including those related to the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. It also extends to individuals recognized as families of martyrs, thus providing crucial financial relief for these groups in their property registration processes.
