BAKU: The qualification stage of Azerbaijan’s first open international tender for constructing the 100 MW Gobustan solar power plant (SPP) has been completed, Trend reports via the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA).
Announced at the end of April 2024, this stage of the tender attracted interest from several foreign and local companies.
“Today, July 18, a meeting of the tender commission was held with representatives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD, supporting this project) and Synergy Consulting Company. Companies that met the tender selection criteria were chosen, as confirmed by qualification documents.
Following the meeting, the commission members determined the participants for the second stage of the auction (to start in July), where they will submit specific proposals for the construction of the SPP. The winner of the tender will be selected based on these proposals,” AREA stated.
The winner of the tender for constructing the 100 MW Gobustan SPP will be determ
ined by the end of 2024.
Azerbaijan aims to double the renewable energy capacity in its total power grid by 2030, bringing it to 30-33 percent.
