Azerbaijani and Gambian Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral and Multilateral Cooperation

Baku: Azerbaijani Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and Gambian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sering Modou Njie engaged in a telephone conversation focusing on bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The discussion took place on December 2, marking a significant step in diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Minister Bayramov extended his congratulations to Minister Njie on his recent appointment as Gambia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, expressing his best wishes for Njie’s success in his new role. The conversation highlighted cooperation between Azerbaijan and Gambia within international organizations, with particular emphasis on the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Non-Aligned Movement.

Additionally, the ministers discussed Gambia’s current chairmanship of the OIC and the priorities of Azerbaijan’s upcoming chairmanship. The call also touched upon regional issues of mutual interest, reinforcing the commitment to strengthen ties and collaboration in various international platforms.
