Azerbaijani and Georgian Interior Ministers Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

Baku: At the invitation of Minister of Internal Affairs Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov, Georgia's Minister of Internal Affairs Sulkhan Tamazashvili and the delegation headed by him have arrived in the Republic of Azerbaijan on an official visit, the Press Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs told APA. On May 18, Sulkhan Tamazashvili and the accompanying delegation visited the Alley of Honors and paid tribute to the cherished memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. Representatives of the friendly country also visited the Alley of Martyrs and laid a wreath at the 'Eternal Flame' memorial complex in honor of the martyrs.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, on the same day, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Colonel General Vilayat Eyvazov met with his Georgian counterpart and the delegation headed by him. Welcoming the guests, Vilayat Eyvazov congratulated Sulkhan Tamazashvili on his appointment as Minister of Internal Affairs and thanked him for accepting the invitation and paying an official visit. He emphasized with satisfaction that cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs of the two countries is at a high level, noting that the documents signed over the past years have created favorable conditions for the formation of a productive working environment, which is reflected in the exchange of information. It was also noted that effective cooperation in combating all forms of transnational crime, including cybercrime, serves the interests of both peoples and security in the region.

The guest thanked the Azerbaijani side for the warm reception, detailed information and hospitality shown, expressing satisfaction with Azerbaijan's rapid development, the stability existing in the country and Baku being one of the safest cities in the world. Within the framework of the visit, the guests also visited military unit 'N' of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs located in Baku and familiarized themselves with its activities.
