Baku: The opening ceremony of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) was held in Baku, APA reports. President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the event.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Ilham Aliyev and Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Anacl¡udia Rossbach welcomed the heads of state and government, as well as the heads of delegations participating in the session. The welcoming ceremony was followed by the taking of a family photo.

A video clip prepared by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) dedicated to the opening of WUF13 was screened, and a cultural program was presented. The head of state addressed the event.

Video addresses by UN Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres and President of the UN General Assembly Annalena Baerbock to the participants of the event were shown. Additionally, speeches by President of the UN-Habitat Assembly Nga Kor Ming and Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Anacl¡udia Rossbach were heard.
