BAKU — In a significant diplomatic engagement, the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Iran discussed ways to enhance their countries’ cooperation across multiple sectors during a telephone conversation.

According to Trend News Agency, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his Iranian counterpart, newly appointed Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, exchanged views on the current agenda of bilateral relations and regional issues. Minister Bayramov extended his congratulations to Araghchi on his recent appointment and wished him success in his role. He also invited the Iranian Minister to visit Azerbaijan, signaling a warm gesture aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations.

The discussion further covered the enhancement of joint projects between the two nations, particularly in economic, trade, transport, and communications sectors. Minister Araghchi expressed his appreciation for the congratulatory message and noted his satisfaction with the operational restoration of Azerbaijan’s embassy in Iran.
