Baku Marshals Train for Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix Fire Safety

Baku — In a proactive step towards enhancing safety for the upcoming Formula 1 Qatar Airways Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2024, a specialized training session for marshals was conducted at the Academy of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES).

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the training, a collaborative effort between the MES’s Main Operations Department and the Baku City Ring Operating Company, aimed to bolster the skills of marshals in fire prevention and response. Approximately 200 marshals, including 68 professional firefighters and rescuers from the Ministry of Defense, underwent both theoretical and practical training modules.

Theoretical training included presentations by the Baku City Circle fire marshals, focusing on fire safety measures, incident prevention, and rescue operations. The practical sessions provided hands-on experience with special equipment and detailed demonstrations of proper procedures in emergency situations. This training marks the fifth session since its inception in June of this year, reflecting a continuous commitment to safety.

The upcoming Formula 1 event, scheduled for September 13-15 in Baku, will see the deployment of over 30 units of special equipment and roughly 400 personnel from the Ministry of Emergency Situations to ensure a safe environment for participants and spectators alike.
