Baku: On January 26, Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Sa'ar. The meeting began with a one-on-one discussion, followed by an expanded session with delegations from both countries.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meetings focused on the current state and development of Azerbaijan-Israel bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as the regional situation. The ministers described the reciprocal visits as a strategic partnership tool in interstate relations grounded in mutual trust and shared interests.

Economic cooperation emerged as a key pillar of bilateral collaboration, with the ministers highlighting the potential for enhanced partnerships across various sectors, including energy, trade, investments, tourism, transport, logistics, high technologies, defense, security, green energy, healthcare, and pharmaceuticals. The officials emphasized the role of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between Azerbaijan and Israel and expressed confidence that the upcoming Azerbaijan-Israel Business Forum would further develop bilateral economic ties.

The sides also noted the importance of humanitarian cooperation, historical connections between the two countries' peoples, and the presence of the Jewish community in Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani community in Israel in fostering bilateral relations.

Discussions extended to global and regional developments, including the situation in the Gaza Strip, efforts to ensure peace and stability in the Middle East, and the post-conflict normalization process in the South Caucasus. Minister Jeyhun Bayramov briefed the Israeli FM on Azerbaijan's efforts to resettle former internally displaced persons in liberated territories and the landmine threat hindering this process.

The ministers concluded by delivering statements on the outcomes of their meeting.
