Baku: Azerbaijani and Kenyan Supreme Courts have taken a significant step towards enhancing bilateral relations by signing a Memorandum of Cooperation. On June 1, Inam Karimov, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, met with a Kenyan delegation led by Chief Justice Martha Koome during her visit to the country.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Chief Justice Inam Karimov emphasized the successful development of friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Kenya across various fields. He noted that expanding cooperation in the judicial and legal sectors is of mutual interest to both nations. Karimov provided the Kenyan delegation with insights into the judicial and legal reforms implemented in Azerbaijan, efforts to ensure uniformity of judicial practice, and measures to modernize and digitize the judicial system.

Chief Justice Martha Koome expressed appreciation for the reforms in the Azerbaijani judicial system. She highlighted Kenya's interest in studying Azerbaijan's digitalization initiatives, the "Electronic Court" information system, and modern approaches applied in court management.

The meeting concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Supreme Courts of Azerbaijan and Kenya. The document aims to facilitate mutual exchange of experience in the judicial field, enhance the professional knowledge and skills of judges and court employees, and strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries' courts.
