New york: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of Portugal Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa in New York, APA reports. The meeting focused on the progress of normalizing relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, with the achievements being recognized by U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa congratulated President Aliyev on advancing the peace agenda in the region. President Aliyev expressed his gratitude and highlighted the historic significance of the Summit held in Washington. He reiterated Azerbaijan’s commitment to initiating and sustaining peace efforts in the region.
