New york: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Michael Arougheti, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ares Management, a global investment firm, in New York. The meeting focused on potential collaborations to enhance Azerbaijan’s financial market and attract foreign investments.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions underscored the significance of working with Ares Management on alternative investments to support Azerbaijan’s economic objectives. Both parties explored avenues to broaden the existing cooperation between the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Ares Management, which began in 2017. They also looked into future investment projects in sustainable infrastructure, logistics, real estate, education, and green energy.
Michael Arougheti commended Azerbaijan’s policies for sustainable development and the conducive environment for institutional investors, which he believes creates vast opportunities for international collaborations. He expressed Ares Management’s keen interest in enhancing partnerships with Azerbaijan, particularly in green energy, logistics, and social infrastructure.
Ares Management specializes in credit, real estate, private equity, and infrastructure investments. Founded in 1997 by Michael Arougheti and his partners, the firm manages assets valued at nearly $600 billion and is among the top three global firms in warehouse and logistics investment assets.
