Shusha:Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler on October 2 during Guler's official visit to Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, the meeting took place in Shusha, recognized as the cultural capital of Azerbaijan. The discussions highlighted the dynamically developing brotherly and strategic allied relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey, particularly in the military sector.
Both ministers emphasized the significance of expanding military cooperation, which is closely monitored by the leaders of both countries. They underlined the importance of joint initiatives such as the 'Unity Strength-2026' military exercise and expressed optimism about the continued success of their partnership.
In their bilateral talks, the ministers covered various aspects of military collaboration, including military-technical cooperation, military education, regional security, and measures to ensure lasting peace in the region.
Furthermore, a trilateral meeting involving the defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Turkey, and Georgia is taking place in Shusha, as announced by Turkey's Ministry of National Defense on social media. The announcement noted that Hasanov and Guler held a bilateral meeting prior to the trilateral discussions.
