Azerbaijani and U.S. Officials Discuss Strategic Partnership and Regional Stability

Baku:Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a telephone conversation on October 5.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussion focused on the current state and future prospects of the Azerbaijan-U.S. strategic partnership, as well as the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process. Both parties acknowledged significant progress in enhancing strategic ties following the historic summit in Washington on August 8, 2025.

The importance of working groups in priority areas identified in the Azerbaijan-U.S. Strategic Partnership Charter was emphasized as crucial for further deepening bilateral cooperation. The officials highlighted major achievements in 2026 under the partnership, including agreements in energy, hydrocarbon exploration, investment, digital technologies, and trade, which were signed during Baku Energy Week and the 2nd Azerbaijan International Investment Forum.

Jeyhun Bayramov also discussed Azerbaijan's ongoing efforts to promote its peace agenda, build confidence, and strengthen regional stability. The conversation concluded with an exchange of views on other mutual interests.
