Karachi:Azerbaijani Navy servicemen have successfully participated in a joint special operations exercise in Pakistan, as part of a collaboration between the two nations' defense forces.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the exercise was conducted in Karachi under the framework of the 'Protocol of the 12th Azerbaijan-Pakistan Working Group-Level Meeting.' This agreement was signed between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The exercise involved special forces personnel executing tasks such as liberating a vessel seized by terrorists, rescuing hostages, and conducting diving operations. The primary aim was to exchange experiences in special operations, familiarize participants with each country's standard operating procedures, and adapt live-fire exercises and maritime operations to realistic combat scenarios. The exercise also focused on ensuring effective coordination and interoperability during counter-terrorism operations.
Azerbaijani Navy personnel successfully completed all assigned tasks in close collaboration with their Pakistani counterparts. At the conclusion of the exercise, participants were awarded certificates and took photos to commemorate the event.
