TASHKENT – Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, and Ziroatkhon Mirziyoyeva, the First Lady of Uzbekistan, visited ‘Mekhrli’ school in Tashkent on August 23, a facility dedicated to providing education for children undergoing long-term medical treatment.
According to APA, the visit allowed the first ladies to observe the school’s unique educational model, which accommodates the needs of children who cannot attend regular schools due to their medical conditions. The ‘Mekhrli’ school, which is part of the Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Clinical Immunology, offers preschool through general secondary education. It focuses on the full rehabilitation and socialization of its students, integrating digital textbooks and materials into its curriculum.
During their visit, the first ladies engaged with the students, participated in activities, and viewed the children’s handmade crafts. This engagement underscores the commitment of both Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan to support educational initiatives and child welfare, particularly for those facing significant health challenges.
