BAKU: In the ongoing conflict known as the Second Karabakh War, the Azerbaijani Army's counter-offensive operation, initiated on September 27, 2020, known as "Iron Fist," continues to unfold with significant developments reported on its 17th day, October 13, 2020. The operation, which is a response to what Azerbaijan describes as large-scale provocations by Armenian forces, aims to reclaim territories held by Armenia for nearly three decades. According to Trend News Agency, the day saw various significant military and political activities. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participated in an interview with Turkish Haber Turk TV channel, discussing the ongoing military operations and the objectives of the Azerbaijani forces. Meanwhile, First Vice President of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, engaged with the public via a post on her official Instagram page, reflecting the nation's sentiment and determination. The military confrontations intensified with Azerbaijani reports stating that Armenian armed forces la unched attacks on the districts of Goranboy, Tartar, Aghdam, and Aghjabadi. These assaults reportedly resulted in the destruction of a considerable number of Armenian personnel and military equipment. Furthermore, the villages in the Aghdam district faced artillery and missile fire, exacerbating the already tense situation. The human cost of the conflict was underscored by Azerbaijan's claim that from the start of the operation until October 13, 42 Azerbaijani civilians lost their lives due to the shelling of settlements by Armenian forces.
