Azerbaijani Astronomical Journal Added to Scopus Scientometric Database

Baku: The Azerbaijani Astronomical Journal has been successfully included in the Scopus scientometric database. This development comes as a part of the significant achievements made by the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory this year.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Nariman Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory, detailed that the observatory conducted research on eight topics related to the physics and dynamics of celestial bodies. These topics included comprehensive studies of stars and galaxies, as well as problems concerning the physics and dynamics of the Sun and Solar System objects. Significant results were achieved in these areas.

Throughout the year, 30 articles from the observatory were published, with 11 being added to both the Web of Science Core Collection (WoS) and Scopus databases. Ismayilov noted that 51 theses were also presented at national and international conferences, highlighting the inclusion of the Azerbaijani Astronomical Journal in the Scopus database as a notable accomplishment.
