Azerbaijani Central Bank Reports Surplus in Cash Foreign Currency Purchases

Baku: In the past period of the current year, supply in the foreign exchange market significantly exceeded demand. This was reflected in both cash and non-cash segments. According to the Central Bank, in the first 6 months of 2026, the purchase of cash foreign currency from customers by exchange offices exceeded the sale by $482 million.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the dollarization level of resident individuals' deposits decreased by 3.8 percentage points over the last 12 months, reaching 25.6 percent in June 2026.
