Baku: Aykhan Hajizada, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that 30 Azerbaijani citizens have crossed the border into Azerbaijan in response to the ongoing military escalation in the region. The Ministry is actively coordinating efforts to assist citizens amidst the crisis.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijani embassies and consulates in the affected areas are operating in an intensified mode to provide necessary support. The diplomatic missions are responding to requests for assistance, ensuring the safety and well-being of citizens.
Hajizada confirmed that one Azerbaijani citizen has been injured and is receiving support from the diplomatic mission, with their condition reported as stable. Due to the regional airspace closure, a mass evacuation is not planned, but citizens in Iran are advised to exit via land borders with Azerbaijan and Trkiye based on their location.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Azerbaijani citizens in the region to remain vigilant, adhere to security advisories, avoid large gatherings, and take all necessary precautions to ensure personal safety.
