Tehran: Russia's embassy in Tehran has expressed its gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the assistance provided in organizing the exit of Russian citizens from Iran via the Astara border checkpoint. Russia's embassy in Azerbaijan is actively involved in the process, ensuring the safe departure of its citizens.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Azerbaijani side is promptly addressing matters related to granting permissions for border crossing. Approximately 500 Russian citizens are currently on lists for exit through Azerbaijani territory. The collaborative efforts between the two countries aim to facilitate a smooth transition for those leaving Iran.
