Azerbaijani culture presented in Burgas

A photo exhibition titled “Baku – the harmony of antiquity and modernity” marking the centenary of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic has been launched in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria.

The exhibition featured the screening of a movie Ali and Nino, the executive producer of which is the Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.

The participants in the event included Burgas Deputy Mayor Yordanka Ananieva, deputy chairman of the city Council George Drajev, Deputy Governor of Burgas region Sevdalina Turmanova, head of the Cultural Center Lyudmila Kutieva, culture and art figures, media representatives, as well as the city residents.

Addressing the event, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Bulgaria Nargiz Gurbanova described the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic as one of the brightest pages in the history of the country. Highlighting the history of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the ambassador hailed the republic`s milestone achievements in a short period of its existence.

Ambassador Gurbanova drew the audience’s attention to Ali and Nino movie, saying the film, one of the brightest examples of the 120-year-old Azerbaijani cinematography, highlights the struggle for Azerbaijan’s independence, and the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic against the background of a love story.

The event was widely covered by the Bulgarian media.
