Baku:As part of a visit to Russia, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and his delegation met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk to discuss the development of trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting addressed the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of high-level contacts in enhancing cooperation. Key topics included trade, economy, investment, industry, energy, agriculture, transport, and logistics.
The discussions reviewed agreements from the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which took place in Zangilan on April 16. Both sides focused on strategies to increase bilateral trade turnover and improve conditions for businesses in both countries.
Additionally, they explored ways to enhance transport links and facilitate freight transportation, including the potential of the International North-South Transport Corridor and improving border crossing procedures.
Prospective projects of mutual interest were also considered, highlighting the need for regular communication between government institutions to address practical matters effectively. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue joint efforts in these areas.
During the visit, Deputy Prime Minister Mustafayev also met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak to discuss cooperation in trade, economy, industry, and logistics. Furthermore, meetings with Emin Agalarov of the Azerbaijan-Russia Business Council and Alexey Repik of the Russia-Azerbaijan Business Council focused on expanding economic, trade, and investment ties.
