Azerbaijani Film Featuring FC Qarabag’s Coach to Premiere at Kazan International Film Festival


BAKU—Ali-Sattar Guliyev’s feature film “When the stadiums are silent” is set to premiere at the 20th Kazan International Film Festival ‘Altyn Minbar’ in the Republic of Tatarstan, showcasing the life of Gurban Gurbanov, the esteemed head coach of Azerbaijan’s FC Qarabag.



According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the film traces Gurbanov’s progression from his playing days in the 1980s through to his notable coaching career, which includes leading FC Qarabag to the UEFA Champions League group stage. The story aims to provide a deep, personal insight into the challenges and triumphs encountered by Gurbanov.



The Kazan International Film Festival, known for its ethos of promoting peace, tolerance, and humanism across national and confessional lines, will feature an array of films from around the globe. This year’s festival will host entries from countries including Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and many others, embodying the festival’s motto: ‘Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue’.
