Azerbaijani Forces Achieve Key Liberations as Second Karabakh War Enters 37th Day.


Chronicles of victory: The Azerbaijani Army continued its counter-offensive operation, known as “Iron Fist”, which began on September 27, 2020, in retaliation to provocations by Armenian armed forces along the frontline. The 44-day conflict, known as the second Karabakh war, resulted in the liberation of Azerbaijani territories that had been occupied for nearly three decades, restoring the country’s territorial integrity.

According to Trend News Agency, on the 37th day of the conflict, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev announced the liberation of additional villages in the Jebrail, Zangilan, and Gubadli regions by Azerbaijani forces. During this time, President Aliyev also held meetings with a delegation led by former Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and the Secretary General of the Turkic Council, along with other officials.

Furthermore, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense published a list detailing the destroyed military equipment of the Armenian Armed Forces. Reports indicated that the Armenian Ar
med Forces had targeted the Aghdam and Aghjabadi districts, violating the ceasefire at the state border. Armenian troops retreated with losses of up to 30 personnel.

In the ongoing military actions, the Azerbaijani forces successfully destroyed an Armenian Su-25 attack aircraft and four “GRAD” missile launchers. The Armenian forces continued their intensive firing on the Terter and Goranboy regions and launched attacks on Gubadli from Armenian territory. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense released video footage showing the destruction of enemy personnel and the Armenian KUB anti-aircraft missile system.
