Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Meets Digital Cooperation Organization Leader

Baku:Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO), Deemah AlYahya, on October 5. The discussion focused on enhancing the partnership between Azerbaijan and the DCO, following Azerbaijan's recent accession to the organization.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the meeting addressed the potential for cooperation in digital transformation, innovation, artificial intelligence, the digital economy, and the startup ecosystem. Minister Bayramov emphasized Azerbaijan's prioritization of digital development and the adoption of new technologies as part of its economic growth strategy. He outlined various initiatives undertaken by Azerbaijan to advance its digital economy, enhance digital infrastructure, and integrate innovative solutions like artificial intelligence.

The dialogue also covered Azerbaijan's role in energy security, highlighting its projects to ensure the safe and diverse transportation of energy resources. Azerbaijan's active participation in regional and international energy cooperation was noted, with a focus on how energy infrastructure development and transportation routes bolster economic connections between countries. Advanced digital technologies' role in these developments was also discussed.

Additionally, Azerbaijan's efforts to improve regional transport and communication links, and enhance the efficiency of international transport corridors, were highlighted. The application of digital technologies and the optimization of logistics processes in this area were emphasized as key factors.

DCO Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya shared insights into the organization's activities and acknowledged Azerbaijan's successes in digital development. She reiterated the DCO's interest in furthering its cooperation with Azerbaijan. The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other topics of mutual interest, including current international and regional issues.
