Baku: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov recently met with Vladanka Andreeva, the outgoing United Nations Resident Coordinator in Azerbaijan, to mark the completion of her mission in the country. Minister Bayramov expressed appreciation for the development of Azerbaijan-UN relations and thanked Andreeva for her contributions, wishing her success in her future endeavors.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the meeting focused on the cooperation agenda between Azerbaijan and the United Nations, with special attention given to progress made toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Both officials praised the collaboration between Azerbaijan and various UN specialized agencies.

Minister Bayramov highlighted Azerbaijan's upcoming role as host of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in 2026, emphasizing the country's leadership in multilateral diplomacy. The session is the UN's main platform on urbanization.

The meeting also reviewed the successful implementation of the 2021-2025 UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework. A new 2026-2030 framework, signed in October, signifies the next phase in the Azerbaijan-UN partnership.

During the discussion, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister informed the UN official about the nation's extensive restoration efforts following the restoration of its territorial integrity. He also outlined steps taken to ensure stability and cooperation in the South Caucasus, highlighting the Joint Declaration signed in Washington on August 8 as a critical move in advancing the regional peace process.

Other issues of mutual interest were also addressed during the meeting.
