Azerbaijani Gas Exports Expand in Volume and Geography

Baku: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has announced a significant expansion in the country's gas exports, both in terms of volume and geographical reach. During an interview with local television channels, Aliyev revealed that Azerbaijan has been supplying gas to 14 countries, with 11 of them receiving regular deliveries.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev explained that some countries received Azerbaijani gas in 2024 but then halted imports due to alternative sources. The supply is adjusted based on demand; when these countries require gas, Azerbaijan resumes supply, and when they do not, it is stopped. Overall, the geographical distribution of Azerbaijan's pipeline gas covers 14 countries, with plans to include two additional European countries this year, bringing the total to 16. This expansion marks Azerbaijan as the leading country in terms of the number of nations receiving its pipeline gas. In the previous year, Azerbaijan's gas exports surpassed 25 billion cubic meters, with further growth anticipated.
