Baku: The 2026 European Championships in Trampoline, Double Mini-Trampoline, and Tumbling, held in Portimo, Portugal, concluded with remarkable results for Azerbaijani gymnastics. Azerbaijani gymnasts displayed a strong presence, marking a historic achievement by advancing through qualifications to compete in multiple semifinals and finals.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Azerbaijan was represented by 23 junior and senior gymnasts. In the trampoline event, the senior team delivered a solid performance, finishing fourth in the final. The tumbling performances were particularly notable, with the Azerbaijani team securing a silver medal. Tofig Aliyev also claimed an individual silver, earning 29.300 points, which was his second consecutive achievement in the championship.

This European Championship marked a significant milestone for Azerbaijani gymnastics. For the first time, both junior and senior trampoline teams reached the finals, along with the junior double mini-trampoline event. Azerbaijani gymnasts advanced to 13 of the 16 possible finals, placing them among the most successful participants of the event.
