BAKU – The Azerbaijani national team, recently crowned as gold medalists at the World Acrobatics Competition for Age Groups, returned home to a warm welcome at Heydar Aliyev International Airport. The team’s victory in Guimaraes, Portugal, marked a significant achievement in the sport for Azerbaijan.

According to Trend News Agency, the athletes were met with applause and celebrations by officials from the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, members of the sports community, and their families. The competition showcased teams from various countries, but it was the Azerbaijani women’s group, comprising Nazrin Zeyniyeva, Zohra Rashidova, and Anahita Bashirli, that excelled. Competing in the 13-19 age bracket, these gymnasts delivered outstanding performances to clinch the top position.

Their final routines saw them outperform competitors from Israel and Portugal, securing Azerbaijan’s status in the discipline at an international level. The return of the team was not just a moment of national pride but also a celebration of the young athletes’ dedication and hard work.
