Azerbaijani Judicial Delegation Explores Albania’s Legal Framework

Tirana: An Azerbaijani delegation led by Mubariz Akbarov, member of the Judicial-Legal Council and Chairman of the Baku Court of Appeal, visited Tirana, the capital of Albania, from December 15 to 18. The purpose of this visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of Albania’s High Judicial Council’s activities, organizational structure, and court administration practices, while also exchanging expertise on issues of mutual interest.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the Azerbaijani delegation met with the Chairperson and members of the High Judicial Council of Albania. They were informed about the organizational structure of the Albanian judicial system, including court administration, the monitoring and evaluation of judges’ performance, the selection and appointment procedures for judicial candidates, and the reforms and best practices associated with the electronic court system.

Furthermore, a representative from the Secretariat of the Judicial-Legal Council of Azerbaijan presented an overview of the Judicial-Legal Council’s status and functions, Azerbaijan’s judicial system, recent reforms to enhance judicial independence, and the capabilities of the ‘Electronic Court’ information system.
