Gran canaria: The Azerbaijani national team won five medals at the 2026 Millennium Team European Cadet Judo Championships in Gran Canaria, Spain. Zahra Guliyeva captured the gold medal after defeating Hungary's Nora Pirbus-Grof in the women's -40kg final.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Nihad Aghayev also won gold in the 50kg category, showcasing Azerbaijan's strength in the sport. Fariz Rzazadeh secured a silver medal, adding to the team's impressive performance.

In addition, Ibrahim Talibov (55kg) and Konul Eyvazli (48kg) each grabbed bronze medals, contributing to the team's overall success. The competition will continue until July 2, allowing for more opportunities for Azerbaijani athletes to excel.
