Azerbaijani Labor Minister Discusses Social Reforms with IMF Delegation

Baku: Anar Aliyev, Azerbaijan's Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, met with a delegation from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), led by Anna Bordon, head of the IMF mission to the country. The meeting focused on the ongoing social reforms in Azerbaijan and their positive outcomes.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Anar Aliyev emphasized the progress made through consistent social reforms, particularly noting the sustained upward trend in pensions. He discussed significant advancements in the pension-insurance system, aligning it with advanced international practices. Aliyev highlighted the establishment of a digital infrastructure for labor, employment, and social protection services, which has facilitated the implementation of proactive social payment mechanisms, including pensions.

During the meeting, both parties explored avenues for cooperation in developing the pension provision system. They also discussed exchanging information to update forecasts, aiming to enhance the efficacy of the social protection framework in Azerbaijan.
