Nakhchivan: The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan has announced that it is preparing necessary response measures after the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran conducted attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles against Nakhchivan International Airport and other civilian infrastructure within the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the attacks took place on March 5 from Iranian territory. The technical specifications of the drones and details surrounding the attacks are currently under investigation. The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has strongly condemned the attacks, stating there was no military necessity for targeting civilian infrastructure.
The Ministry holds the Islamic Republic of Iran fully responsible for the incident. In response, Azerbaijan is preparing to take necessary retaliatory measures to defend its territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as to ensure the security of its civilians and infrastructure. The Ministry has emphasized that these acts of aggression will not go unanswered.
