Karachi:Azerbaijani Navy servicemen recently took part in a 'Joint Special Operations Forces Exercise' in Pakistan, as part of a bilateral agreement between the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Headquarters of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the exercise was outlined in the 'Protocol of the 12th Azerbaijan-Pakistan Working Group-Level Meeting.' It involved special forces personnel in tasks such as liberating a vessel seized by terrorist groups, rescuing hostages, and conducting diving operations.
The exercise aimed to promote experience exchange between Azerbaijani and Pakistani servicemen, familiarize participants with standard operating procedures, adapt live-fire exercises and maritime operations to realistic combat conditions, and ensure coordination during counter-terrorism operations.
The Azerbaijani Navy personnel successfully completed all assigned tasks in coordination with their Pakistani counterparts, following the exercise plan. At the end of the exercise, participants received certificates and posed for photographs.
